How is justice measured? It is measured by truthfulness and fairness. It is measured in respect for the life and liberty of each individual. It is measured by judging the facts and evidence honestly, without bias and individually, because each of us is accountable for our actions. These are the scales and weights of justice.
Finding the truth is vital to administering justice. An oath, "Do you swear (promise) to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you GOD?" has been the one of the best means to find truth - so justice can prevail. But an oath will only be able to bring truth to light, if the witness making the oath acknowledges that his words have consequences with GOD in this life and the life to come. Banish a sense of religion and a future state of rewards and punishments from society and the obligation of an oath will dissolve, leaving those making an oath to speak to whatever suits them, without regard for the truth. The pagan world is void of the mighty influence of a sacred oath and so is the United States in the exact relation paganism has increased in the culture.
Throughout history, scales and weights were and are seen as symbolic figures to measure justice. The Holy Bible declares a false balance (scale) is an abomination to the LORD. In Proverbs 11:1, we read, "A false balance is abomination to the Lord; but a just weight is his delight."
If in measuring justice the scales are false and deceitful, the Holy Bible declares it is because the people lie and are full of violence. Micah 6:11-12, "Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth."
The citizens of the United States must demand justice based on truth and Biblical principle. If not we will surely continue in the pagan and godless direction we've been heading. Make no mistake about it, pagan, godless society tramples justice, destroys innocent life and will lead to the eventual overturning of our nation.
Most importantly, we as individuals should understand GOD's justice by reading His Word. GOD's justice demands that each and every person be held accountable for his or her life - what you say, what you think, what you do and don't do, and who you are. The Holy Bible declares there will be a Judgement Day where each and every person will be judged by GOD. It is a very real day and a very real trial. The Holy Bible declares GOD will render one of only two eternal sentences, Heaven or hell, for each and every person. The Holy Bible declares that GOD's judgement is perfect and no person will be with excuse. There will be no secrets or false testimony about your life - for GOD knows everything about you, including your thoughts and heart, so everything including things hidden by you, are known by GOD.
Just as GOD will render one of only two eternal sentences, GOD will use one of only two standards to measure His perfect justice. Standard # 1: The totality of your thoughts, words, actions both in commission and omission will be weighed in the balance, and you will be judged accordingly. The Holy Bible declares that GOD's judgement will be a guilty verdict because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD. The sentence administered will be a death sentence because the wages of this sin is death and the death the Holy Bible declares is eternal damnation in hell. If Standard # 1 was the only measurement of GOD's judgement, each and every person who ever lived and is living today would be lost and without hope. BUT the Good News of the Gospel is that there is a 2nd Standard GOD uses in administrating His Perfect Justice. It is while we were yet sinners CHRIST died for us and rose again defeating death and satan. To fulfill GOD's justice, our sin, which is the breaking of GOD's laws, is not forgotten - but GOD the Father places our sin on JESUS CHRIST. This sin and its punishment are placed on JESUS CHRIST, instead of all of us who are sinners and yet believe on JESUS CHRIST. We are then justified by the righteousness and Blood of Jesus Christ. By believing on JESUS CHRIST with our heart and confessing Him with our mouth, we have a Substitute to take our death sentence. Therefore there is no condemnation for those who believe and trust in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and Savior. The Holy Bible declares GOD will pronounce an innocent verdict when he judges us who are identified with JESUS CHRIST, because it is only through the merits of JESUS CHRIST that we are judged innocent of breaking GOD's Laws. The Holy Bible declares - with rejoicing, this standard of GOD's Perfect Justice leads to life eternal in Heaven. Which standard of GOD's perfect justice will apply to you? How is justice measured?
